Science-backed, personalised support for your fertility journey
Trying to conceive can come with a lot of information, opinions and pressure.
You might be wondering whether you are eating the right things, taking the right supplements, whether your blood results are actually optimal for preconception, or whether there is anything else you should be doing before trying naturally or starting fertility treatment.
At Shay Health Hub, our approach is not about adding more rules or making you feel like you need to do everything perfectly.
We take the time to understand where you are now, what you have already been through, what testing you have completed and what your current priorities are.
From there, we build a personalised plan grounded in nutrition science, clinical evidence and your individual health history.
Our goal is to help you feel clearer and more supported, while working collaboratively with your GP, fertility specialist and other members of your healthcare team.
Fertility support that looks at the whole picture
Fertility is complex, so we do not use a one-size-fits-all approach.
Your consultation may include a review of:
Menstrual cycle and ovulation
PCOS, endometriosis or other reproductive conditions
Fertility, IVF and pregnancy history
Thyroid function
Iron, B12, folate and vitamin D
Glucose and insulin regulation
Nutrition and nutrient intake
Gut health
Sleep, stress and recovery
Medications, supplements and previous pathology
Not everyone needs every test or supplement. We focus on what is actually relevant to you.
Preconception care
There is no perfect time to begin.
Some clients come months before trying to conceive, while others book after trying for a while or when preparing for IVF.
We meet you where you are and focus on practical, evidence-informed support around areas such as protein intake, iron, B vitamins, iodine, zinc, selenium, omega-3s, choline, vitamin D, fibre and blood glucose regulation.
The goal is not a restrictive “fertility diet”. It is realistic nutrition support that fits your life.
What working together looks like
You do not need to overhaul everything at once.
We prioritise what matters most first.
That might be improving protein intake, correcting low iron, reviewing your prenatal, investigating thyroid markers, supporting blood glucose regulation or simplifying your supplement routine.
Your plan evolves as your cycle, treatment, medications or pregnancy status changes.
The goal is for you to understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and what matters right now.
IVF and fertility treatment support
If you are undergoing IVF, IUI or other fertility treatment, we work alongside your existing medical care.
Your medications, fertility protocol, treatment timeline and specialist recommendations are considered when developing your plan.
Support may include:
Nutritional preparation before treatment
Bloodwork review
Protein and nutrient intake
Thyroid and iron status
Glucose regulation
Omega-3 and antioxidant intake
Supplement review and compatibility
Support between treatment cycles
Early pregnancy nutrition
Recommendations are adjusted as your treatment stage changes, because what is appropriate during preconception may not be appropriate during stimulation, transfer or pregnancy.
Blood test review
We start with the results you already have.
Results can sometimes sit within standard laboratory ranges while still being worth discussing in the context of your symptoms and reproductive history.
If something requires further medical investigation, we will recommend appropriate follow-up.
Supplements, without the overwhelm
More supplements do not automatically mean better fertility support.
We review your current prenatal and supplements alongside your diet, pathology, medications and fertility treatment.
From there, we simplify where possible and make sure every recommendation has a clear reason behind it.
The aim is a targeted, evidence-informed plan that makes sense for you.
Male fertility matters too
Male fertility is an important part of the preconception picture, and we include this in our approach rather than placing the focus solely on the female partner.
We can review nutrition, zinc and selenium, omega-3 and antioxidant intake, metabolic health, sleep, alcohol and smoking, heat exposure, lifestyle factors and existing semen analysis results.
Where appropriate, we will also recommend further semen analysis, bloodwork or medical investigation so that both partners are being properly considered as part of the fertility plan.
